Dave Simpson, an artist and Denver NC businessman, is working on a sculpture for Innovative Pest Management that will be unveiled in two months.

Simpson, owner of Simpson Dockworks in Denver NC and ArtbySimpson.com, has spent his life working in metal fabrication. He has produced more than 500 racecars over his career and aluminum truss frames for the entertainment industry.

Ronnie & Rhonda Caldwell, owners of Innovative Pest Management Inc., a pest-control company in Denver NC, is excited about “The Widow Project,” which will be unveiled in front of the office Oct. 29. The sculpture will be of a large widow spider hand sculpted out of polished stainless steel poised on a piece of concrete.

“For several years, Dave has wanted to create this giant steel spider in front of our office, now he has painstakingly created this thing by hand the old fashion way”  Ronnie Caldwell said. “I believe this is an awesome addition for our town and great for the pest control industry.”

Members from over five chamber of commerce groups from the area have been invited to attend along with two national trade magazines, the National Pest Management Association, the NC Pest Management Association and the NC Structural Pesticides Division from Raleigh NC.
