This morning at 8am, approximately two hundred area business leaders gathered at Innovative Pest Management, Inc. located in Denver, NC for a four county Chamber of Commerce function. The event was held for business networking and the much anticipated unveiling of the Widow Project.

Ken Kindly, Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, Karen Shore, Mooresville/Iredell County Chamber of Commerce, Denis Bilodeau, Denver Area Business Association, Gwen McComb, Cabarrus County Chamber of Commerce and Danny Hearn, Catawba County Chamber of Commerce were all present and spoke to the crowd about working together for positive change and building on local strengths to support small business develop and collaborate growth and accomplishments.

The project, which has been featured in The Charlotte Observer, Goggle National News and many other media outlets, was hand sculpted out of stainless steel by Dave Simpson (Local Artist). The Widow Project took over three months to complete and has now found it’s permanent home in front of Innovative Pest Management, Inc. (6596 Campground Road, Denver, NC).

Folks traveled from as far as Maggie Valley, NC and Raleigh, NC to witness the unveiling of the sculpture. The original sketch was drawn by Dave Simpson of artbysimpson.com, is posted next the spider at The Guggenheim Spider in Spain. Since it was hand sculpted out of stainless steel it is sure to draw attention to the Lakeside community of Denver, NC.
